Gentle Reader, I’m being interviewed today over on Book Bound.
BB: Before publishing your debut novel, Soulless, you attempted to publish previous works without success. What motivated you to persevere and continue on your journey to publication?
GC: Sheer unadulterated stubbornness mixed with a healthy dose of insanity and a complete disregard for statistics.
The contests to win Changeless are nearing a close, they end Sunday March 21. This will be my last blog post before announcing the winners. Here is the round up:
Changeless Contest the First: Podcasters Payback! (Also includes a first edition of Soulless and a promise of a first edition of Blameless.)
So far this contest only has 11 entrants. Good odds!
Changeless Contest the Second: Facebook Parasol Protectorate
Since all you have to do is be a member of the Parasol Protectorate facebook group there are currently 642 entrants.
Changeless Contest the Third: Twitter Run This one has a limit, I have to reach 1874 followers then I will pick from my follower one winner. Since I only have 1481 if this contest it may not happen.
i09 covers the Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition including a photo of my corset display from the Museum of Curiosities and rubyblackbird’s display in the Traders Concourse. You may remember her from these lovely pins:
Blacklin says, “Final Thoughts: I found the Victorian world created in Soulless imaginative, inventive, fascinating, and refreshing. I look forward to the next two books in the series: Changeless and Blameless which are due out in paperback in March and September 2010.”
SPOILER ALERT! Amazon and Powell’s have posted Changeless cover along with blurb. Blurb gives end of Soulless.
Extract from the first chapter of Changeless available for your perusal.
Even bigger SPOILER ALERT! Really, DON’T READ THE BLURB ON AMAZONif you haven’t read the other books first.
Super Secret Project H: Submitted to agent.
Super Secret Project F: Consulted betas, good to go. Hope to write first two chapters this month. Note that number isn’t changing much. I am a bad writer beast.
CAKE in Space: Trunked for the moment.
Short article done, turned in, and VanderMeer’s have announced the table of contents.
Not-so-secret fiction short: Finished rough. (For the The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance 2.)
Quote of the Day:
“Writing a novel is like heading out over the open sea in a small boat. It helps, if you have a plan and a course laid out.”
