Romancing the Werewolf ~ A Supernatural Society Novella by Gail Carriger is now available (audio will follow).

Gay reunion romance featuring your favorite reluctant werewolf dandy, the return of a certain quietly efficient Beta, and some unexpected holiday gifts.

Tiny Navajo Reads says:

“This has been one of my favorite novellas to date! Biffy and Lyall have come into themselves a bit more, they’ve had 20 years apart, with Biffy learning how to be a proper packleader, without a Beta there to help him keep the peace. Lyall has been Beta to the Highland Pack, seeking forgiveness for the atrocity he committed earlier in his life.”

  • Meat Cute ~ A Parasolverse Short
    Status: Rough draft complete. Layaway.
Possible anchor short story for Secret Project A or SS collected/omnibus in 2018 or 2019.
  • TOC ~ San Andreas Shifters #2
    Status: Writing Rough draft.
There’s a bartender with a mysterious ability and a big scruffy werewolf with a powerful crush. Gail is contemplating shifter food trucks ~ Do it raw! Sometimes we wiggle, sometimes the food does.

Trade Release of Imprudence

Posted by Gail Carriger

Tomorrow the trade edition of Imprudence releases into the world! I’ll be doing a Facebook Live to celebrate on my Author Page at 1pm Pacific Time.

For those of you who have been waiting patiently for this edition I’m pleased to say it’s available. Remember you can call Borderlands Books to get a signed copy (888.893.4008). I’ll even inscribe it for you, if you order soon.

Praise for Imprudence:

“Fierce ladies that don’t back down from a fight.”

~ Bookish Things & More

“For a silly, fun escape from day-to-day dirigible-less doldrums, ‘Imprudence’ is required reading.”

~ The Oklahoman

“I enjoy Gail Carriger’s long game, and her ability to weave her different series together.”

Imprudence doesn’t, thankfully, read like a travelogue but there’s enough description to give a sense of place to each stop on the trek. This isn’t just the old time sets we’ve seen in movies, after all, this is a steampunk world of dirigibles and supernatural creatures.”

Un-book Report

“I’m practically giddy writing about how much I loved the humor in this book. Imprudence just sparkles with wit throughout its pages, even in the midst of battle. Yes, battle!”

Rally the Readers

“It is action packed, has fantastic characters, it made me laugh, and yes, even cry a little.”

Traveling Through Books

“All my favorite elements were still there, namely the preposterous humor and the main character’s unique brand of eccentricity which kept the story interesting. I love The Spotted Custard and all the people on board who have become Rue’s family, and I can’t get enough of her and her friends’ antics.”

The Speculative Herald

“This is Carriger at her best: witty and fun, with crisp dialog, a smattering of action, and a bit of romance. And tea. Always, tea.”

“There was more romance in this book and we get to see so many more of the old characters, even some I wasn’t expecting and that was awesome. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the rest of the series has to offer.”

Freadom Library

In other news, this fun video clip just came across my radar. It’s from Gaslight Gathering last year. For those who doubted either my dancing or my corset wearing abilities, here is a bit of both. The corset is a custom from Dark Garden.

That big fat grin on may face? Only happens when dancing.

‘New York Times’ Cuts a Range of Bestseller Lists

RWA’s Open Letter to the New York Times

As a trade association representing more than 10,000 writers of romance fiction worldwide, Romance Writers of America (RWA) is deeply disappointed by the decision of the New York Times to change its best-seller criteria.

Romance authors, most of them women, have dominated the best-seller lists in mass market and e-books for years. To dismiss these authors and the millions of readers who buy their books is to ignore what “bestseller” truly means. Each year, consumers buy more than $1.3 billion worth of romance fiction. If the New York Times eliminates the mass market and e-book lists, they are proving that they are out of touch with what consumers actually buy. Further, the dismissal of two formats dominated by women can’t help but feel sexist.

RWA strongly urges the Times to reconsider its decision.
