London Supper March 20, 1876 (Behind the Magic)

Supper for Today, 1876, in a London Townhouse

  • Lobster soup made of oyster jelly broth with lobster meat
  • Breast of mutton roasted with stewed cucumbers
  • Boiled potatoes
  • Snowballs, apples stuffed with rice (soaked in milk) spiced with cinnamon, lemon-peel and clove and served with a sauce of sugar and melted butter
