PureSpec, Edmonton, Ho!

In a few short hours I leave for Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for a weekend of fun and games at the Pure Speculation convention.

Ramada Conference Centre,
11834 Kingsway NW,
Edmonton, Alberta T5G 3J5, Canada
Nov. 16 ~ 17

Convention programming available on the website. I have stuff going most days so even if you can only come for a bit, you are sure to catch me doing something. Check the website to see if the con offers day passes.

I am packed and ready to head out.

As you can see, I’m going with leopard accessories this time around. Also, there is a steampunk ball Saturday night, so I am doing a steampunk light outfit as well. I’m shooting for carry on only, so all of this fits into a tote and a rolly. Although, I admit the tote is quite large. The clothing roll is not pictured.

Worry not, despite what Twitter may think of me, I am quite able to check the weather at my destination and pack accordingly. I have warmth, many layers, scarf, hat, lined leather gloves, etc… and have taken as many measures as possible for a thin skinned Californian. For example, I am wearing my Big Pink Coat, referred to disrespectfully by the AB as the Moving Blanket of Doom. Too warm to ever wear in this part of the word, I get funny looks at any CA airport, but the coat is one of my great loves. And yes, it does kind of look like a moving blanket.

Pure Speculation is my last event of 2013. When I get back I’ll give you a full report on C&C launch. (It’s been pretty cray my end for two weeks now!) I have some specially cool news for you, and a new member of the family waiting patiently to make your acquaintance.

And with those suspiciously caustic hints, I leave you for a week or so. Hooray for my Gentle Readers!

Book News:
Fantasy Faction says, “The scientific worldbuilding in these novels is a hidden gem of both series.”

Quote of the Day:

“Curiosity killed the cat,” Fesgao remarked, his dark eyes unreadable.
Aly rolled her eyes. Why did everyone say that to her? “People always forget the rest of the saying,” she complained. “‘And satisfaction brought it back.”
