9 Things Every Happy Person Should Have

I saw this one over on Cupcakes & Cashmere and kind of loved it, so here it is from me. Feel free to answer yourself.

9 Things Every Happy Person Should Have

1. A go-to drink.
Greyhound (if the vodka and grapefruit are both good quality) otherwise champagne. I love bubbly and see no reason why it should be confined to a special occasion.

2. A go-to Karaoke song.
No. But I’d be delighted to provide an interpretive background dance to your singing.

3. A uniform.
Vintage dress, high heels, back seam stockings, gloves, small hat.

4. A hair stylist they love.
Starr at Spank Salon.

5. An exercise routine.
40 minute bicycle ride three times a week, Yoga twice. Occasional hiking. I should do better but, frankly, I’m lazy.

6. A hobby.
Several, all of them fun and time consuming, none of them particularly good for me or my pocket book.

7. A best friend.
One for every season and a few for special occasions.

8. A healthy sense of self.
I have a healthy sense of multiple selves. It’s an essential component of being a fiction writer.

9. A guilt free indulgence.
Feedly, hot tubs, expensive perfume, body butter, tea.

Okay, I'm taking you on #2 next time we're in the same place. Seriously. Heads up for either Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" or Jay-Z's "99 Problems." 😀

I'm going home to try that drink out…as soon as work is over *taps her foot and watches the clock*

#5 Kickboxing. Something Alexia would likely find useful as it does wonders for coordination and, shall I say it, builds helpful butt kicking skills.

Thank you for that interesting glimpse of your life!

Along the same line of thinking as #2, having a "theme song". Whether it is the Partridge Family theme when I drive to work or Muse's "Super Massive Black Hole" while buying paper towels at Target, theme songs almost always take me back to the happy place.

    #1 scotch whiskey and water
    #6 ren faires. Enough said.

As always, I do get so much glee reading your witty and also very illuminating posts that look into the brilliant mind of GC. However, I must point out that the lovely bathing photo of Miss Audrey Hepburn is from the film 'Paris When It Sizzles' in 1962 taken by the esteemed photographer Bob Willoughby.
